Funny BBQ 98 & Hot Pot located on the Bowery in Chinatown, New York City is like a fast food joint in Hong Kong. The decor is sinple and workable for the space, but you almost can touch the next table without getting up. L The food is only adequate in terms of taste and quality, but they do have a big variety for you to choose from. The price is very reasonable for what they serve. 1 of the selling point is all you can eat chicken feet along with your meal. The staff was friendly and attempted to be professional, but it did not make the cut.

The bbq and hot pot menu options were not super clear so we were a bit confused about what we could grab. We ended up going for the all you can eat hot pot and skewers option. Compared to the bbq option, you don’t get nearly as much meat and food options with the hot pot buffet. However, the food available was good. Downstairs is the karaoke section of the restaurant. We sat at the table right in front of the karaoke machine. It’s a very powerful table because the whole downstairs has to listen to what we chose on the karaoke machine.

This place used to be a social circle favorite before it started using unfresh meat. The meat were actually fried, not barbecued. And after the layers of fried grease and spices you could still taste the stickiness from unfreshness.

It's an average place for the Chinese BBG/Hotpot buffet. Their spicy pepper is horrible and taste badly. The meat and veggie are fine. I love their Hello Kitty KTV room
